Calqulate Metrics Ltd is seeking a Phlebotomist to support a contract role in the Austin area. The position involves performing blood draws, labeling and processing specimens, and ensuring proper handling and documentation under standard procedures.

Responsibilities include centrifuging and labeling specimens, ensuring accurate order matching, and maintaining patient information while upholding OSHA and DEP regulations. Mileage reimbursement is provided.

Qualifikationen

• Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where you will be employed.
• Minimum 6 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast-paced lab or hospital.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• High School Diploma or GED.

Aufgaben

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
• Explain the venipuncture process clearly and courteously; demonstrate technique with straight or butterfly needles.
• Fully understand physicians' orders.
• Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes.
• Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test order.
• Package specimens for transport and store them according to required temperatures, following OSHA/DEP regulations.
• Attend annual department trainings.
• Answer telephone calls and read laboratory results to satisfy inquiries.
