Job summary

Food Management Search is seeking a Phlebotomist for a contract role in the Austin, TX area with potential for permanent placement. The position involves floating to multiple sites in the Austin area, with mileage expenses paid and a daytime schedule (M-F, 8am-5pm) and may require additional daytime hours.

Responsibilities include performing blood draws, labeling and centrifuging specimens, and updating patient information while ensuring compliance with OSHA/DEP regulations.

Qualifications

• Valid phlebotomy certification required in the employed state.
• Minimum of 6 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• High School Diploma or GED is required, additional training welcomed.

Responsibilities

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information, etc.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
• Explain clearly the venipuncture process and other specimen collection methods as required, using proper technique.
• Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes and ensure correct labeling.
• Package specimens for transport and maintain specimen integrity per protocol.
