Job summary

LabCorp is seeking a phlebotomist to join our patient-focused team in Michigan. You will perform blood collection by venipuncture and capillary methods across all ages, collect specimens for various tests, and ensure accurate data entry and specimen handling.

Travel to additional sites when needed and provide excellent customer service while maintaining logs and processing billing as required. High school diploma and phlebotomy certification or 3 months experience required.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • Phlebotomy certification, completed training program, or ≥3 months experience as a phlebotomist.
  • Phlebotomy certification must come from an accredited agency.

Responsibilities

  • Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups.
  • Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests, etc.
  • Perform data entry of patient information accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Process billing information and collect payments as necessary.
  • Prepare all collected specimens for testing and analysis.
  • Maintain patient and specimen information logs.
  • Provide superior customer service to all patients.
  • Travel to additional sites when needed.

Work Schedule

Monday - Thursday 8:00am - 4:30pm; Friday 8:00am - 4:00pm and rotating Saturdays

Job Responsibilities
  • Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups
  • Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests, etc.
  • Perform data entry of patient information accurately and in a timely manner
  • Process billing information and collect payments as necessary
  • Prepare all collected specimens for testing and analysis
  • Maintain patient and specimen information logs
  • Provide superior customer service to all patients
  • Perform administrative and clerical duties as necessary
  • Travel to additional sites when needed
Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
  • Phlebotomy certification, completed training program, or ≥3 months experience as a phlebotomist
Preferred Qualifications
  • ≥1 year of phlebotomy experience
Additional Job Standards
  • Phlebotomy certification must come from an accredited agency
  • Proven track record in providing exceptional customer service
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work independently or in a team environment
  • Comfortable working under minimal supervision
  • Reliable transportation
  • Flexibility to work overtime as needed
  • Ability to pass a standardized color blindness test
