Job description

Job Responsibilities

• Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups.
• Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests, etc.
• Perform accurate and timely data entry of patient information.
• Process billing information and collect payments.
• Prepare all collected specimens for testing and analysis.
• Maintain patient and specimen information logs.
• Provide superior customer service to all patients.
• Perform administrative and clerical duties as necessary.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Phlebotomy certification or completed training program, or at least 3 months of experience as a phlebotomist.

Preferred Qualifications

• At least 6 months of experience as a phlebotomist.

Additional Job Standards

• Phlebotomy certification or completed training program must come from an accredited agency if work experience is lacking.
• Proven track record in providing exceptional customer service.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Comfortable working under minimal supervision.
• Reliable transportation.
• Flexibility to work overtime as needed.
• Ability to pass a standardized color‑blindness test.
• Phlebotomists may be eligible for participation in the PST Incentive Plan, which pays a quarterly bonus based on performance metrics.

Benefits

• Employees scheduled for 20 or more hours per week are eligible for comprehensive benefits, including Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, STD/LTD, 401(k), Paid Time Off (PTO) or Flexible Time Off (FTO), Tuition Reimbursement, and Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
• Employees scheduled for less than 20 hours, as well as Casual, Intern, and Temporary employees, are eligible only for the 401(k) Plan.
• Employees scheduled for a 7 on/7 off pattern are eligible for all benefits except PTO or FTO.
