Pride Health is hiring a Phlebotomist II to support our client’s medical facility in Greeley, CO 80634. This 4+ month assignment offers a pay rate of $26.29/hour and a Monday–Friday schedule from 7:00am to 4:00pm.

Responsibilities

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information.
• Collects and stores specimens in accordance with procedures.
• Explain venipuncture process clearly to patients as required.
• Demonstrate technique with straight or butterfly needles.
• Match requisitions to specimen tubes and prepare samples for testing.
• Verify test requisitions against labels for 100% accuracy.
• Package specimens for transport and store at required temperatures.

Duration: 4+ months

Pay rate: $26.29/hour

Schedule: Monday - Friday 7:00am - 4:00pm

*The salary is determined by an individual's level of experience, as well as any relevant licenses and certifications they may hold.

Key Responsibilities

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information, etc.
• Collects and stores specimens in accordance with established procedures.
• Properly explain in a clear but courteous manner the process of the venipuncture (blood drawing) and or other specimen collection (ex. urine or fecal) as required.
• Demonstrate technique/s using straight needles and/or butterfly needles.
• Fully understand all of the physicians' orders. Matches laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes. Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test order.
• Check all test requisitions or computer labels against the script to ensure 100% correctness.
• Package specimens for transport.
• Stores specimens at the required temperature and places them.

Work Experience

• 1-3 years phlebotomy experience REQUIRED, inclusive of pediatric, geriatric and capillary collections.
• 2 years in a Patient Service Center environment preferred.
• Customer service in a retail or service environment STRONGLY preferred.
