Job summary

River Valley Regional YMCA is seeking a Development Director to advance the organization’s mission by expanding philanthropic support and strengthening donor and community relationships. You will lead a comprehensive development program and collaborate with the CEO, Board, volunteers, staff, and partners to achieve revenue goals through annual giving, major gifts, grants, and events.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, nonprofit management, business, or related field or equivalent experience.
• Five+ years in fundraising, development, grant management, or related fields.
• Experience developing and implementing fundraising strategies, cultivating donors, securing institutional support, and managing grants.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and monitor a comprehensive annual development plan aligned with revenue goals.
• Identify, research, qualify, cultivate, solicit, and steward donors across multiple channels.
• Lead and coordinate major gifts prospects, strategies, and donor records with leadership teams.
• Research funding opportunities, prepare and manage grant proposals, and monitor compliance.
• Direct annual giving, endowment, sponsorships, campaigns, and special events; engage volunteers.
• Support board committees and cultivate fundraising volunteers for active participation.
• Develop a compelling case for support and collaborate on donor communications and reports.
• Maintain accurate donor, prospect, gift, pledge, and grant records; analyze fundraising metrics.
