Job summary

Seattle YMCA seeks a Director of Philanthropy - Community Giving to develop philanthropic strategy and lead implementation across branches and departments. The role focuses on acquiring, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding community gifts up to $10,000, and building a culture of philanthropy for annual and major gifts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business administration, financial development, communication, public relations, human services or equivalent.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Five or more years of demonstrated success in raising funds from institutional and individual donors and through grant writing.
• Strong relationship building, organizational skills and experience with volunteers.
• Demonstrated ability to foster a culture of philanthropy within an organization.

Responsibilities

• Manage relationships with 100+ donors capable of giving up to $10,000 annually.
• Support annual fundraising targets of $11M+ and capital fundraising objectives.
• Collaborate with Branch Executives, Board Members, volunteers and staff to cultivate donors.
• Lead fundraising for events, campaigns, and priority areas.
• Renew and rebuild relationships with dormant donors and expand the donor pipeline.
• Develop cultivation strategies and solicitations to move prospects toward gift.
