Job summary

Valley of the Sun YMCA is seeking a Chief Development Officer to lead a comprehensive philanthropic strategy including annual giving, major gifts, endowment growth, and grants. You will collaborate with the CEO, Board, volunteers, and community leaders to secure resources and expand community impact.

You will guide donor engagement, stewardship, and partnerships while driving campaigns that sustain the organization’s mission and long-term success in Arizona.

Qualifications

• Eight or more years of professional fundraising experience.
• Ability to relate to top community leaders and diverse groups.
• Knowledge of giving and charitable vehicles and donor stewardship.
• CFRE or YMCA Organizational Leader certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develops and executes a comprehensive fundraising strategy across annual giving, major gifts, capital campaigns, endowment growth, and grants.
• Builds meaningful relationships with donors, volunteers, corporations, foundations, and government partners.
• Leads capital and endowment campaigns to ensure long-term sustainability.
• Partners with the President & CEO and Board to solicit, steward, and renew major gifts and partnerships.
• Champions a culture of philanthropy across the Association.
