Job summary

University of Maryland is seeking a Philanthropy Associate II to advance board engagement and fundraising across the University of Maryland School of Medicine and University of Maryland Medical Center. The role reports to the Director of Board Relations and works at the intersection of governance and frontline fundraising.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years of fundraising, philanthropy, or client/customer relations experience.
• Experience in higher education, healthcare, or nonprofit fundraising preferred.
• Experience with Microsoft Office and donor databases (Raiser’s Edge, Salesforce) and donor reporting is advantageous.
• Extra qualifications may be substituted year-for-year for education/experience.

Responsibilities

• Supports individualized board member engagement strategies with meeting prep, documentation, and follow-up.
• Maintains board engagement tracking and action-item timelines for fundraising activities.
• Assists frontline gift officers with board member coordination, reporting, and outreach.
• Prepares reports on board giving, participation, and fundraising activity.
