Job summary

CSL in Milwaukee is seeking a dedicated pheresis support technician to prepare donors and equipment, monitor the pheresis process, and ensure accurate data capture. You will respond to alarms, document incidents with a PDA, and coordinate with staff to maintain donor safety throughout and after procedures.

The role requires a high school diploma and at least 3 months of experience in a medical setting, with basic math skills and a willingness to cross-train.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of three (3) months’ work experience, preferably in medical or health provider environment or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must be able to perform basic math calculations.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for preparing the donor, donor area and equipment for the pheresis process.
• Prepares the autopheresis machine for the pheresis process.
• Monitors the donor and the pheresis process, responds to alarms or signals during the process.
• Disconnects the donor when the process is complete.
• Maintains alertness to any reaction the donor may have during or after the pheresis process and notifies appropriate staff.
• Uses PDA to record incidents during the pheresis process, such as machine alerts, alarms, volume variances and donor adverse events.
• Uses PDA to link equipment and supplies used in the pheresis process to the donor.
• Alerts Group Leader or Supervisor of donor flow issues.
• Ensures accurate recording of donor data in the electronic donor information management system as outlined in SOPs.
• Understands policies and procedures associated with hyper immune programs at the center if applicable.
• Maintains clean, efficient work environment and ensures sufficient operating supplies and forms are available; follows HSE and OSHA policies.
• Maintains confidentiality of all personnel, donor and center information.
• May be cross-trained in other areas to meet business needs.
• Bilingual skills may be required, at the organization’s discretion.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
