Job summary

CSL Plasma in Tampa, FL is seeking a donor center technician to perform venipuncture and pheresis, monitor the donation process, and ensure donor safety in accordance with SOPs and FDA guidelines.

You will educate donors, record data using PDA and electronic systems, troubleshoot equipment, and maintain a clean, safe working environment while complying with HSE/OSHA policies. Experience in a medical environment is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum twelve (12) months experience in a medical or health care environment preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• In CA, must be state certified as a Certified Phlebotomy Technician I, OR current Registered Nurse by the State of California.

Responsibilities

• Perform venipuncture and pheresis to collect plasma per SOPs.
• Monitor pheresis process, donor setup, monitoring, and disconnect.
• Perform venipuncture to begin pheresis per FDA guidelines.
• Evaluate vein performance and adjust as needed to optimize donation time and quality.
• Educate new donors on donation process, screening, and center policies as applicable.
• Maintain safety by monitoring donor reactions and responding appropriately.
• Record incidents and donor data using PDA and electronic systems.
• Perform calibrations and troubleshoot equipment alarms per SOPs.
• Care for donor flow, ensure efficient turnover, and alert supervisors to issues.
• Collect arm or whole blood samples for testing and ensure accurate data recording.
• May be cross-trained in other areas; bilingual skills may be required.
