Job summary

CSL in California (Sacramento area) is seeking a phlebotomy/pheresis technician to collect plasma from donors by performing venipuncture, monitoring the pheresis process, and adhering to SOPs.

You will set up donors, monitor, and disconnect, evaluate vein performance, and adjust procedures to ensure donor safety and product quality. Responsibilities include documenting incidents with a PDA and maintaining a clean, compliant work environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 12 months experience in a medical/healthcare environment preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• For CA centers: either Certified Phlebotomy Technician I or current CA RN license.

Responsibilities

• Perform phlebotomy and pheresis per SOPs to collect plasma.
• Set up, monitor, and disconnect donors during pheresis.
• Ensure donor safety and a positive donation experience.
• Record incidents and data using the PDA and donor system.
• Calibrate and maintain equipment; respond to alarms.
• Collect arm or whole blood samples for testing.
• Maintain clean, compliant work environment and follow safety policies.
• May be cross-trained in other areas; bilingual skills may be required.
