Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 12 months experience in a medical or health care setting.
• In CA, state certification as Phlebotomy Technician I or RN license required.

Responsibilities

• Collect plasma from donors by performing venipuncture and monitoring the pheresis process.
• Follow SOPs to set up donors, monitor during donation, and disconnect after collection.
• Venipuncture on donors to begin pheresis in compliance with FDA guidelines.
• Assess donor vein performance and adjust as needed to ensure efficiency and safety.
• Educate donors on donor process, screening, appointment system, and policies.
• Monitor donors for reactions and assist or escalate as needed.
• Record incidents and donor data in the PDA and donor management system.
• Perform calibrations and maintenance checks as per SOPs; address alarms.
• Troubleshoot equipment, document incidents, and remove faulty equipment from service.
• Monitor donor flow on the floor and alert supervisors to any issues.
• Collect arm or whole blood samples for testing as required.
