Job summary

CSL Vifor Florida is seeking a phlebotomist to support plasma collection at our donor center. You will perform pheresis procedures, monitor donors, and ensure compliance with SOPs and FDA guidelines.

Responsibilities include donor setup, venipuncture, vein assessment, education of donors, handling donor data in our electronic system, and responding to equipment alarms. The role requires attention to safety, confidentiality, and teamwork.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• External candidates: minimum 6 months’ experience as a phlebotomist; one year in a medical/health care environment preferred.
• Internal CSL employees: must have successfully completed the CSL Plasma DST training.

Responsibilities

• Perform pheresis procedures and plasma collection per SOPs.
• Perform venipuncture to begin the pheresis process in line with FDA guidelines.
• Evaluate donor vein performance and adjust to expedite donation while preserving safety.
• Educate donors on screening, appointments, policies, and nutrition for product quality.
• Monitor donors for reactions and assist staff or notify supervision as needed.
• Use a PDA to record incidents, alarms, and donor events during the process.
• Calibrate and verify maintenance, respond to complex equipment alarms and issues.
• Troubleshoot equipment failures and document incidents.
• Oversee donor flow on the floor and escalate flow issues to leadership.
• Collect arm samples or whole blood for testing.
• Maintain accurate donor data in the electronic donor information management system.
• Follow HSE and OSHA policies and maintain confidentiality of donor information.
• May be cross-trained in other areas; bilingual skills may be required.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
