Job summary

CSL Vifor in Tallahassee, FL is seeking a plasma collection technician to perform venipuncture and monitor the pheresis process under limited supervision, ensuring donor safety and product quality.

You will follow SOPs, set up donors, document data in the donor management system, and respond to donor reactions and equipment alarms. A high school diploma with basic math skills is required; phlebotomy training is preferred and prior medical experience is beneficial.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; phlebotomy training preferred.
• Minimum 18 months' experience in medical or health provider environment preferred.
• Ability to perform basic math calculations.
• Local NY experience clause applies for centers in NY (if applicable).

Responsibilities

• Under limited supervision, responsible for efficient collection of plasma by performing venipuncture and monitoring the pheresis process.
• Follows SOPs to perform plasma collection procedures including donor set-up, venipuncture, monitoring and disconnect.
• Evaluates vein performance and makes corrections to expedite donation time and ensure product quality and donor safety.
• Explains screening, health tests, appointment system, donations fees, policies and nutrition to the donor.
• Maintains alertness to donor reactions and assists with reactions or notifies staff.
• Uses PDA to record incidents such as machine alerts, volume variances and donor adverse events.
• Performs calibrations, verifies equipment maintenance, and responds to alarms or donor issues.
• Ensures accurate recording of donor data in the electronic donor information management system.
• Follows HSE and OSHA policies and procedures.
• Monitors donor flow on the donor floor and alerts supervisor of flow issues.
