Job summary

CSL Plasma in Toledo, OH is seeking a Plasma Donation Technician to perform pheresis procedures and plasma collection, ensuring donor safety and compliance with SOPs.

The role requires phlebotomy experience, CSL Plasma DST training for internal candidates, and healthcare experience; the successful candidate will monitor donors, document data, and maintain a clean, safe work environment while supporting center operations.

Qualifications

• Internal CSL DST training completed.
• External candidates must have a minimum of 6 months’ experience as a phlebotomist; one year of experience is preferable.
• Minimum twelve (12) months of experience in a medical or health care environment preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Performs all aspects of the pheresis procedure and plasma collection, including donor setup, donor monitoring and donor disconnect.
• Performs venipuncture on donors to begin pheresis process in compliance with SOPs and FDA guidelines.
• Evaluates vein performance to identify problems and makes adjustments to expedite donation time and ensure product quality and donor safety.
• Educates new donors on the use of plasma-derived products, explains the screening and health tests, appointment system, and center policies.
• Monitors donors for reactions and assists with or notifies staff of any adverse events.
• Records donor incidents and data in the electronic donor information management system as per SOPs.
