Job summary

CSL Plasma in Springdale, AR seeks a phlebotomist to perform donor pheresis and plasma collection following SOPs, maintaining donor safety and process efficiency.

Responsibilities include donor setup, monitoring, calibration and equipment troubleshooting, recording data, and ensuring compliance with FDA guidelines. High school diploma required; 6 months of phlebotomy experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 6 months’ experience as a phlebotomist; one year preferable.
• Minimum twelve (12) months of experience in a medical or health care environment preferred, or equivalent education/experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform pheresis procedure including donor setup, monitoring and donor disconnect.
• Venipuncture to begin pheresis per SOPs and FDA guidelines.
• Evaluate donor vein performance and adjust to expedite donation time and ensure donor safety.
• Educate donors on therapeutic products, screening, appointments, fees, policies and nutrition where applicable.
• Monitor for donor reactions and assist or notify staff as needed.
• Use PDA to record incidents during pheresis (alarms, events, variances).
• Perform calibrations and verify maintenance; respond to alarms and issues.
• Troubleshoot equipment failures and document incidents.
• Monitor donor flow to ensure continuous turnover and report issues.
• Collect arm samples or whole blood samples for testing.
• Record donor data in electronic donor information management system per SOPs.
• Understand policies for hyperimmune programs if applicable.
• Maintain clean, organized work environment and ensure supplies; follow HSE/OSHA policies.
• Maintain donor, center confidentiality.
• May be cross-trained in other areas.
• Bilingual skills may be required; may be required at organization’s discretion.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
