Job summary

CSL Vifor in Rainbow City, Alabama, is seeking a Pheresis Technician to prepare autopheresis equipment and monitor donors throughout the pheresis process. You will record incidents on the PDA and ensure accurate donor data entry in the electronic system, while maintaining safety and process integrity.

The role requires a high school diploma and at least 3 months of related healthcare experience, with potential cross-training and bilingual capabilities as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three (3) months’ work experience in medical or health provider environment or equivalent.
• Will perform basic math calculations.

Responsibilities

• Prepares the autopheresis machine for the pheresis process.
• Monitor the donor and the pheresis process, respond to alarms or signals.
• Disconnect the donor when the process is complete.
• Maintain awareness of donor reactions during/after the pheresis process and notify staff as needed.
• Use PDA to record incidents during the pheresis process (alerts, alarms, volume variances, adverse events).
• Link equipment and soft goods used in the pheresis process to the donor in the PDA.
• Alert Group Leader or Supervisor of donor flow issues.
• Ensure accurate recording of donor data in the electronic donor information management system per SOPs.
• Follow policies related to hyper immune programs when applicable.
• Maintain a clean, efficient work environment and ensure supplies are available; follow HSE/OSHA policies; promote safety.
• May be cross-trained in other areas as needed.
