Job summary

CSL in El Paso is seeking an apheresis support staff member to prepare donors, donor area, and equipment for pheresis procedures. You will ready the autopheresis machine, monitor the donor, respond to alarms, and disconnect the donor when complete.

You will document incidents using a PDA, link equipment to donors in the information system, and maintain confidentiality while following SOPs and OSHA/HSE policies.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 3 months’ work experience, preferably in medical or health provider setting.
• Ability to perform basic math calculations.
• Local legal and/or educational requirements may apply.

Responsibilities

• Prepare donor, donor area and equipment for the pheresis process.
• Prepare the autopheresis machine for the pheresis process.
• Monitor the donor and pheresis process; respond to alarms or signals.
• Disconnect the donor when the process is complete.
• Maintain alertness to donor reactions and notify staff as needed.
• Record incidents using the PDA during the pheresis process.
• Link equipment and soft goods used to the appropriate donor in the donor information system.
• Alert Group Leader or Supervisor of donor flow issues.
• Ensure accurate recording of donor data in the electronic donor information management system per SOPs.
• Follow Health Safety & Environmental (HSE) and OSHA policies; promote safety.
• Maintain confidentiality of all personnel, donor and center information.
• May be cross-trained in other areas to meet business needs.
• Bilingual skills may be required at the organization’s discretion.
• Perform job-related duties as assigned.
