Job summary

CSL Plasma in Mobile, AL is seeking a Pheresis Technician to support donor procedures. You will prepare the donor, area and equipment, monitor the pheresis process, respond to alarms, and disconnect the donor when complete.

Record incidents with the PDA and ensure accurate donor data per SOPs, while maintaining a clean, safe workspace in line with HSE/OSHA policies. Cross-training and bilingual skills may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of three (3) months' work experience, preferably in medical or health provider environment or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Must be able to perform basic math calculations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare donor, donor area and equipment for pheresis.
• Prepare the autopheresis machine for pheresis.
• Monitor donor and pheresis process, respond to alarms or signals that may occur.
• Disconnect donor when the process is complete.
• Maintain alertness and awareness to donor reactions and notify appropriate staff.
• Record incidents using PDA during pheresis (alarms, events).
• Link equipment and consumables used in the pheresis process to the donor in PDA.
• Alert Group Leader or Supervisor of donor flow issues.
• Ensure accurate donor data in the electronic donor information management system per SOPs.
• Understand policies for hyper-immune programs where applicable.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment and ensure supplies are available; follow HSE/OSHA policies.
• Maintain confidentiality of all personnel, donor and center information.
• May be cross-trained in other areas to meet business needs.
• Bilingual skills may be required, at the discretion of the organization.
• Perform job-related duties as assigned.
