Job summary

CSL Vifor is seeking a Phlebotomy Technician to prepare donors, donor area and equipment for the pheresis process while monitoring donors and equipment to ensure safety and data accuracy.

The role emphasizes maintaining a clean environment, following HSE/OSHA policies, and documenting donor information in the electronic donor information management system. Experience in a medical setting is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of three (3) months’ work experience, preferably in medical or health provider environment or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Must be able to perform basic math calculations

Responsibilities

• Prepare the donor, donor area and equipment for the pheresis process.
• Prepare the autopheresis machine for the pheresis process.
• Monitor the donor and pheresis process and respond to alarms or signals during the process.
• Disconnect the donor when the process is complete.
• Maintain alertness for donor reactions during or after pheresis and notify staff as needed.
• Record incidents in the PDA, including machine alerts, alarms, volume variances and donor adverse events.
• Link equipment and consumables used in the pheresis process to the appropriate donor in the PDA.
• Alert Group Leader or Supervisor of donor flow issues.
• Ensure accurate recording of donor data in the electronic donor information management system per SOPs.
• Understand policies for hyper immune programs at the center, if applicable.
• Maintain a clean, efficient work environment and ensure supplies are available; follow HSE and OSHA policies; promote safety.
• Maintain confidentiality of personnel, donor and center information.
• May be cross-trained in other areas as needed.
• Bilingual skills may be required, at organization’s discretion.
