Job summary

CSL in Winston-Salem, NC is seeking a Donor Pheresis Technician to support the pheresis process. You will prepare the donor, donor area and equipment, and get the autopheresis machine ready for procedures.

The role requires careful monitoring of donors and the process, with quick response to alarms and clear communication with staff. You will document incidents in the PDA, ensure linkage of equipment to donors, maintain a clean work area, follow HSE and OSHA policies, protect donor information,

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of three (3) months’ work experience, preferably in medical or health provider environment or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must be able to perform basic math calculations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the donor, donor area and equipment for the pheresis process.
• Prepare the autopheresis machine for the pheresis process.
• Monitor the donor and the pheresis process, respond to alarms or signals during the process.
• Disconnect the donor when the process is complete.
• Maintain alertness to any reaction and notify staff as needed.
• Record incidents in the PDA and link equipment to the donor.
• Link equipment and soft goods used to the appropriate donor in the PDA.
• Alert Group Leader or Supervisor of donor flow issues.
• Ensure accurate recording of donor data in the electronic donor information system (SOPs).
• Maintain a clean, efficient work environment and ensure supplies are available; follow HSE and OSHA policies and promote safety.
• Maintain confidentiality of personnel, donor and center information.
• May be cross-trained in other areas as needed.
• Bilingual skills may be required to meet business needs.
• Perform job-related duties as assigned.
