Qualifications

• Basic math skills required for dose calculations and measurements.

• Experience in a medical or health provider setting is preferred but not mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Prepare donor, donor area and equipment for the pheresis process.
• Prepare the autopheresis machine for the pheresis process.
• Monitor the donor and the pheresis process and respond to alarms or signals.
• Disconnect the donor when the process is complete.
• Maintain alertness to any donor reaction during or after pheresis and notify staff.
• Record incidents and donor data in the PDA and donor information system.
• Link equipment and supplies to the donor in the system.
• Alert supervisor of donor flow issues.
• Ensure accurate recording of donor data as per SOPs.
• Understand policies for hyperimmune programs if applicable.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment and follow HSE/OSHA policies.
• Maintain donor confidentiality.
• May be cross-trained in other areas as needed.
• Bilingual skills may be required.
