Job summary

CSL Vifor in Lafayette, IN is seeking an apheresis support technician to prepare the donor, donor area, and equipment for the pheresis process, and to prep the autopheresis machine.

You will monitor the donor and process, respond to alarms, disconnect the donor when complete, and maintain safety and confidentiality according to SOPs.

Candidates should have a high school diploma, 3 months healthcare exposure, basic math skills, and willingness to cross-train; bilingual skills may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of three (3) months’ work experience in medical/health provider environment or equivalent.
• Must be able to perform basic math calculations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the donor, donor area and equipment for the pheresis process.
• Prepare the autopheresis machine for the pheresis process.
• Monitor the donor and the pheresis process; respond to alarms or signals.
• Disconnect the donor when the process is complete.
• Maintain alertness to donor reactions; notify appropriate staff.
• Record incidents on the PDA for machine alerts, alarms, and donor events.
• Link equipment and soft goods to the donor in the system.
• Alert Group Leader or Supervisor of donor flow issues.
• Ensure accurate donor data in the electronic donor information management system per SOPs.
• Understand policies for hyper immune programs at the center if applicable.
• Maintain a clean, efficient work environment and ensure supplies are available; follow HSE/OSHA policies.
• Maintain confidentiality of all personnel, donor and center information.
• May be cross-trained in other areas to meet business needs.
• Bilingual skills may be required at organizational discretion.
