Job summary

CSL Vifor in Miami, FL seeks a donor pheresis technician to support donor collection procedures and maintain strict safety and data-recording standards. You will prepare donors, area and equipment, monitor the pheresis process and respond to alarms while ensuring compliance with SOPs.

The role requires a high school diploma, 3 months of healthcare-adjacent experience, basic math skills, and the ability to operate the PDA and related systems. Bilingual ability may be required at some sites.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of three (3) months’ work experience, preferably in medical or health provider environment or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must be able to perform basic math calculations.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for preparing the donor, donor area and equipment for the pheresis process.
• Prepares the autopheresis machine for the pheresis process.
• Monitors the donor and the pheresis process, responds to alarms or signals during the process.
• Disconnects the donor when the process is complete.
• Maintains alertness to any donor reaction during or after pheresis and notifies staff.
• Uses PDA to record incidents during pheresis, such as machine alerts and donor events.
• Uses PDA to link equipment and supplies used to the appropriate donor.
• Alerts Group Leader or Supervisor of donor flow issues.
• Ensures accurate recording of donor data in the electronic donor information system per SOPs.
• Understands policies and procedures for hyper immune programs where applicable.
• Maintains clean, safe work environment and ensures supplies are available; follows HSE/OSHA policies.
• Maintains confidentiality of all personnel, donor, and center information.
• May be cross-trained in other areas to meet business needs.
• Bilingual skills may be required, at the organization’s discretion.
