Job summary

CSL Plasma in Lafayette, IN, seeks a Pheresis Technician to prepare donors, donor areas, and equipment for the pheresis process. You will monitor donors and machines, respond to alarms, disconnect donors, and document incidents using the PDA while linking equipment to donors.

Applicants should have a high school diploma, at least 3 months in a medical environment, and basic math skills. Some cross-training or bilingual duties may be required depending on local needs and SOPs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of three (3) months' work experience, preferably in medical or health provider environment or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Must be able to perform basic math calculations

Responsibilities

• Prepare the donor, donor area and equipment for the pheresis process.
• Prepare the autopheresis machine for the pheresis process.
• Monitor the donor and the pheresis process, respond to alarms or signals during the process.
• Disconnect the donor when the process is complete.
• Maintain alertness to donor reactions during or after pheresis and notify staff as needed.
• Use PDA to record incidents during the pheresis process, such as alarms, volume variances and adverse events; link equipment to donors in the system.
• Alert Group Leader or Supervisor to donor flow issues.
• Ensure accurate donor data is recorded in the electronic donor information management system per SOPs.
• Understand policies for hyper immune programs at the center if applicable.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment and ensure supplies and forms are available; follow HSE and OSHA policies.
• Maintain confidentiality of personnel, donor, and center information.
• May be cross-trained in other areas to meet business needs.
• Bilingual skills may be required at organization's discretion.
