Job summary

CSL is seeking a donor pheresis technician to prepare donors, donor areas, and equipment for the pheresis process at our center. The role involves monitoring donors, handling machine alarms, and ensuring accurate data recording using the PDA and donor information system.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or equivalent and at least 3 months of work experience in a medical or health provider environment, with basic math skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of three (3) months’ work experience, preferably in medical or health provider environment or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must be able to perform basic math calculations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the donor, donor area and equipment for the pheresis process.
• Prepare the autopheresis machine for the pheresis process.
• Monitor the donor and the pheresis process, respond to alarms or signals.
• Disconnect the donor when the process is complete.
• Maintain alertness to any donor reaction during or after pheresis and notify staff.
• Record incidents and donor data using the PDA and electronic donor information system.
• Link equipment and supplies to the donor in the system and ensure proper tracking.
• Follow HSE and OSHA policies and promote safety in all actions.
• Maintain confidentiality of personnel, donor and center information.
• May be cross-trained in other areas as needed.
