Job summary

CSL Vifor in Ohio seeks a donor pheresis technician to prepare donors, area, and equipment for the pheresis process and to monitor the procedure. The role includes responding to alarms, recording incidents in the PDA, and ensuring accurate donor data in the information system.

The candidate will follow SOPs, maintain a safe work environment, protect donor confidentiality, and may assist in other areas as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of three (3) months’ work experience, preferably in medical or health provider environment or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must be able to perform basic math calculations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the donor, donor area and equipment for the pheresis process.
• Prepare the autopheresis machine for the pheresis process.
• Monitor the donor and the pheresis process, respond to alarms or signals during the process.
• Disconnect the donor when the process is complete.
• Maintain alertness to any donor reaction during or after pheresis and notify staff.
• Use PDA to record incidents during pheresis, including machine alerts, alarms, volume variances and donor adverse events.
• Link equipment and soft goods used in the pheresis process to the appropriate donor in the PDA.
• Alert Group Leader or Supervisor of donor flow issues.
• Ensure accurate recording of donor data in the electronic donor information management system as per SOPs.
• Follow policies and procedures for hyper immune programs if applicable.
• Maintain a clean, efficient work environment and ensure sufficient supplies; follow HSE and OSHA policies; promote safety.
• Maintain confidentiality of all personnel, donor and center information.
• May be cross-trained in other areas to meet business needs.
• Bilingual skills may be required at organization's discretion.
