Job summary

CSL Vifor is seeking a Pheresis Support Technician in Canton, OH to prepare donors and equipment for the pheresis process and to monitor donors throughout procedures. The role requires attention to safety, accurate data entry, and adherence to SOPs.

Eligible candidates will have a high school diploma or equivalent and at least 3 months of related health-care experience, with basic math skills. Some roles may require bilingual abilities and cross-training in other areas.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of three (3) months’ work experience, preferably in medical or health provider environment or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must be able to perform basic math calculations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the donor, donor area and equipment for the pheresis process.
• Prepares the autopheresis machine for the pheresis process.
• Monitors the donor and the pheresis process, responds to alarms or signals during the process.
• Disconnects the donor when the process is complete.
• Maintains alertness to donor reactions during or after pheresis and notifies staff.
• Uses PDA to record incidents, alarms, volume variances and donor events.
• Links equipment and soft goods used to the appropriate donor in the PDA.
• Alerts Group Leader or Supervisor of donor flow issues.
• Ensures accurate recording of donor data in the electronic donor information system per SOPs.
• Understands policies for hyper immune programs where applicable.
• Maintains a clean, safe work environment and ensures supplies are available; follows HSE/OSHA policies.
• Maintains confidentiality of personnel, donor and center information.
• May be cross-trained in other areas as needed.
• Bilingual skills may be required per business needs.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
