Pheresis Donor Care Technician

Job summary

CSL Plasma in Dayton, OH seeks a Pheresis Technician responsible for preparing donors, donor area and equipment for the pheresis process, and for maintaining accurate records of donor data in the information system.

You will monitor donors and equipment, respond to alarms, ensure safety under HSE/OSHA guidelines, and support cross-training in other areas; bilingual skills may be required to meet business needs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of three (3) months' work experience, preferably in medical or health provider environment or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must be able to perform basic math calculations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the donor, donor area and equipment for the pheresis process.
• Prepare the autopheresis machine for the pheresis process.
• Monitor the donor and pheresis process and respond to alarms or signals.
• Disconnect the donor when the process is complete.
• Maintain alertness to donor reactions and notify staff.
• Use PDA to record incidents during pheresis and link equipment to the donor.
• Link equipment and soft goods used in the pheresis process to the donor in the system.
• Alert Group Leader or Supervisor of donor flow issues.
• Ensure accurate recording of donor data in the electronic donor information management system.
• Follow policies associated with hyper immune programs and SOPs.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment and ensure supplies are available; follow HSE/OSHA policies.
• Maintain donor, personnel and center information confidentiality.
• May be cross-trained in other areas to meet business needs.
• Bilingual skills may be required to meet business needs.
