Job summary

CSL is seeking a dedicated donor pheresis technician at our Pontiac, MI center. You will prepare the donor, area, and equipment, ensure machine readiness, and monitor the process, including responding to alarms and donor safety signals.

Responsibilities include accurate data recording, adherence to SOPs, and maintaining a clean, safe work environment. Cross-training and bilingual abilities may be required depending on center needs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of three (3) months’ work experience, preferably in medical or health provider environment or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Must be able to perform basic math calculations

Responsibilities

• Prepare the donor, donor area and equipment for the pheresis process.
• Prepare the autopheresis machine for the pheresis procedure.
• Monitor the donor and process, responding to alarms or signals.
• Disconnect the donor when the procedure is complete.
• Maintain alertness to donor reactions and notify staff as needed.
• Record incidents using a PDA, including machine alarms and donor events.
• Link equipment and supplies to the donor in the system.
• Maintain accurate donor data in the electronic donor information management system per SOPs.
• Follow HSE and OSHA policies and keep the work area clean.
• Maintain confidentiality of donor and center information.
• May cross-train in other areas; bilingual skills may be required.
