Job summary

CSL Vifor is seeking a dedicated pheresis technician to support donor procedures and operate the apheresis equipment in a controlled healthcare setting. You will prepare the donor area, monitor the procedure, respond to alarms, and ensure accurate data entry per SOPs.

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma, at least three months of relevant health-care experience, strong math skills, and the ability to maintain confidentiality while following strict safety guidelines and processes.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of three (3) months’ work experience, preferably in medical or health provider environment or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must be able to perform basic math calculations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the donor, donor area and equipment for the pheresis process.
• Prepare the autopheresis machine for the pheresis process.
• Monitor the donor and the pheresis process and respond to alarms or signals.
• Disconnect the donor when the process is complete.
• Maintain alertness to donor reactions during or after pheresis and notify staff as needed.
• Record incidents using the PDA, including machine alerts, alarms, volume variances and donor adverse events.
• Link equipment and supplies used to the appropriate donor in the system.
• Alert Group Leader or Supervisor of donor flow issues.
• Ensure accurate donor data recording in the electronic system per SOPs.
• Maintain a clean, efficient work environment and adequate supplies; follow HSE and OSHA policies.
• Maintain confidentiality of personnel, donor and center information.
• May be cross-trained in other areas as needed.
• Bilingual skills may be required.
