Job summary

CSL Vifor is seeking a Donor Processing Apheresis Technician to prepare donors, donor area and equipment for the pheresis process. You will monitor the donor and the pheresis process, respond to alarms, and ensure accurate data entry in the electronic donor information management system.

Compliance with SOPs, HSE and OSHA policies is required, and confidentiality of all donor information must be maintained. Some roles may require bilingual skills or cross-training to meet business needs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of three months’ work experience in medical or health provider environment.
• Must be able to perform basic math calculations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the donor, donor area and equipment for the pheresis process.
• Prepare the autopheresis machine for the pheresis process.
• Monitor the donor and pheresis process, respond to alarms or signals during the process.
• Disconnect the donor when the process is complete.
• Maintain alertness to donor reactions during or after pheresis and notify staff as needed.
• Record incidents, machine alerts, volume variances, and donor events using the PDA.
• Link equipment and soft goods used to the appropriate donor in the system.
• Alert Group Leader or Supervisor of donor flow issues.
• Ensure accurate recording of donor data in the electronic donor information management system as per SOPs.
• Maintain clean, safe work environment and ensure supplies and forms are available; follow HSE and OSHA policies; promote safety.
• Maintain confidentiality of all personnel, donor, and center information.
• May be cross-trained in other areas; bilingual skills may be required.
