Job summary

COMMUNITY CARE OF WEST VIRGINIA INC is seeking a Pharmacy Technician trainee to prepare medications under direct pharmacist supervision and to participate in a structured on-the-job training program with the goal of national certification within 13 months. The role includes entering prescriptions, assisting with billing, and handling patient interactions in a friendly, respectful manner.

Training will be provided online and in person, with emphasis on accuracy and safety in a busy pharmacy

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Participation in Community Care of West Virginia's Pharmacy Technician Training Program.
• On-the-job training under Pharmacist-in-Charge with completion of online coursework.

Responsibilities

• Transcribe prescriptions onto patient medication profiles under pharmacist supervision.
• Assist pharmacist with billing using correct reason codes and dates.
• Prepare medication reconstitutions under pharmacist supervision.
• Maintain a clean, orderly workspace and comply with HIPAA requirements.
• Interact with patients and customers in a professional and friendly manner.
