Job summary

Charleston Area Medical Center Davis Medical Center seeks a Pharmacy Tech Trainee to support medication dispensing and supply delivery under direct supervision. You will learn to operate automated dispensing machines and the pharmacy information system, assist with IV preparations, and ensure accurate charges and credits are entered.

Training is provided with progression toward certification. Under WV Board rules, expect a structured on-the-job program with 500 hours and required certification

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 500 hours of on-the-job training provided and approved by WV Board of Pharmacy.
• National Pharmacy Technician Certification within 3 months after program completion.

Responsibilities

• Dispenses and delivers medications per policy under supervision.
• Fills orders, pre-packs hazardous and non-hazardous meds.
• Creates charges and credits in the computer system.
• Operates and trouble-shoots automated dispensing machines.
• Maintains IV competency and sterile compounding per USP guidelines.
