Job summary

Giant Eagle seeks a Pharmacy Technician Trainee to join a collaborative team focused on safe, accurate, and efficient care for patients. You will help build a service-conscious Pharmacy team and develop strong patient relationships while supporting daily operations at the pharmacy.

The role requires a High School diploma or equivalent, eligibility to obtain registration as a pharmacy technician with the state board, and the ability to lift up to 25 pounds.

Qualifications

• Experience: 0–6 months as Pharmacy Technician or related role.
• Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
• Licensing: Eligible to obtain registration as pharmacy technician with state board of pharmacy.
• Age: 18 years or older.
• Lifting: Up to 25 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients warmly at pharmacy entry points with compassion and a smile.
• Assist with orders in person and by phone; direct questions to the pharmacist as needed.
• Maintain neat, compliant work environment per company and government requirements.
• Support team to ensure efficient department operations.
• Use pharmacy computer to process actions for drop-off, will call, drive-thru, and order receiving.
• Assist in improving service outcomes using relevant metrics.
• Complete required training and exams; comply with HIPAA and regulations.
