Job summary

Giant Eagle is seeking an entry-level Pharmacy Technician Trainee to join our collaborative team. You will help build a service-conscious Pharmacy team, develop strong patient relationships, and contribute to safe, accurate, and efficient patient care across reception, prescription processing, and customer inquiries.

In this role you’ll support daily operations, maintain supplies, and assist with diverse tasks to ensure smooth pharmacy services while adhering to all state and federal policies,

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
• Certification or Licensing: Eligible to obtain registration as pharmacy technician with the applicable state board of pharmacy.
• Experience: 0 to 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Welcome patients and acknowledge them with compassion and a smile at all pharmacy entry points.
• Model excellent patient care by engaging and meeting patient needs, including processing orders in person and by phone.
• Direct patients to products and merchandise and refer prescription questions to the pharmacist.
• Maintain a neat work environment to meet company and government requirements.
• Assist team members to ensure the department runs efficiently.
• Use the pharmacy computer to complete actions to maximize efficiency and provide patient care at drop-off, will call, drive thru, phone, filling and order receiving.
• Assist with maintaining inventory levels by ordering, receiving, stocking and rotating drugs and supplies per policy.
• Answer telephone professionally and ensure accurate information is exchanged.
• Resolve customer questions and concerns by communicating effectively with customers and management.
• File written prescriptions daily.
