Job summary

Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, VA, is seeking a Specialty Pharmacy Technician I to support the Case Management Pharmacy team. The role offers a $5,000 sign-on bonus for qualified candidates and a full-time schedule with First (Days) shifts, including occasional Saturdays.

Responsibilities include filling and delivering medications under supervision, ensuring adequate supplies, triaging questions beyond scope, and maintaining QA and patient data in the system.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• Virginia Pharmacy Tech License required.
• CPhT license (NHA/PTCBB) preferred.
• Previous Pharmacy experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Fills and delivers medications under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist or practitioner.
• Ensures adequate supplies are available for patient care.
• Triages and escalates questions outside the pharmacy technician's scope of practice as needed.
• Uses appropriate systems for processing patient information.
• Maintains quality assurance per department and legal requirements.
• Operates pharmacy equipment.
