Job summary

Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, VA is hiring a Full-time Inpatient Pharmacy Technician. Responsibilities include filling and delivering medications under pharmacist supervision, ensuring supplies for patient care, and escalating issues beyond scope. Requires Virginia Pharmacy Tech License; CPhT preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• Virginia Pharmacy Tech License required.
• CPhT license preferred (NHA or PTCB).

Responsibilities

• Fills and delivers medications under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist/licensed independent practitioner.
• Ensures adequate supplies are available for continuous patient care.
• Triages and escalates any questions or issues outside the pharmacy technician's scope of practice as needed.
• Uses appropriate systems for processing patient information.
• Ensures quality assurance is maintained according to departmental and legal requirements.
• Operates pharmacy equipment appropriately.
• In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned.

Job Responsibilities
