Job description

Pharmacy Technician - Specialty Retail

Location: McLean, VA

Pay: From $21 Per Hour

MUST:

1. 3 years of experience as a pharmacy technician
2. Experience working in a retail pharmacy
3. Experience assisting patients on phone and in person
4. Experience processing refills
5. Experience following up on and processing claims
6. Strong computer skills and ability to verify insurance
7. Experience following up on rejected prescriptions
8. Strong customer service skills
9. Comfortable working in a very fast-paced environment
10. Active Pharm Tech license in the state of VA
11. If not certified in Virginia, must be nationally certified and willing to become state certified

DUTIES:

The Pharmacy Technician's duties include but are not limited to:

1. Greet patients in person and over the phone in a high-volume setting
2. Process prescriptions
3. Verify insurance
4. Follow up with insurance companies on rejected prescriptions
5. Document patient information in the computer system
6. Provide customer service support
