Responsibilities

1. In accordance with state and federal regulations, assist the pharmacist, under direct supervision, in the practice of pharmacy. Assist in other Pharmacy Department duties as per company policies.
2. Use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions. If PTCB certified, assist and coach other pharmacy technicians and cashiers in pharmacy systems and register operations.
3. Model and deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience.

Customer Experience

• Engage customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance. Resolve issues and answer questions to ensure a positive experience.
• Share customer service best practices with team members, including interpersonal habits and Walgreens service traits.
• Develop strong relationships with valuable customers.

Operations

• Assist in pharmacy practice under supervision, ensuring compliance with policies and regulations.
• Perform duties like entering patient and drug information, filling prescriptions, verifying medications, and assisting in workflow management.
• Report prescription errors immediately and adhere to policies on dispensing and error management.
• Handle sales transactions, assist customers in locating products, and process third-party claims efficiently.
• Support inventory management, including ordering, unpacking, and storing pharmaceuticals, and file related claims.
• Assist in clinical services, including sample collection and coordination with healthcare providers.
• Build and maintain relationships with the local medical community through outreach and detailing.
• Ensure the pharmacy environment is stocked, clean, and orderly.
• Follow all company policies, maintain respectful coworker relationships, and complete assigned tasks.

Training & Personal Development

• Earn and maintain PTCB certification through our training program and/or state certification. Certification may be required for promotion.
• Attend training and acquire continuing education credits to stay updated with healthcare and pharmacy developments.

• Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
