Job Description

Responsibilities include:

• In accordance with state and federal regulations, assist the pharmacist, under direct supervision, in the practice of pharmacy. Assist in other Pharmacy Department duties per company policies.
• Use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions. If PTCB certified, assist and coach other pharmacy technicians and cashiers in pharmacy system operations.
• Deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience.

Customer Experience

• Engage customers by greeting them and offering assistance. Resolve issues and answer questions to ensure a positive experience.
• Share customer service best practices with team members, including interpersonal habits and Walgreens service traits.
• Develop strong relationships with valuable customers.

Operations

• Assist in pharmacy practice under pharmacist supervision, following all policies and regulations.
• Perform duties such as entering patient and drug info, filling prescriptions, verifying medicines, and checking for interactions.
• Report prescription errors immediately and adhere to error and quality policies.
• Handle sales transactions, assist customers in locating products, and process third-party claims.
• Support inventory management activities and maintain a clean, organized pharmacy environment.
• Assist in clinical services, including sample collection and coordination with healthcare providers.
• Build relationships with local medical community through outreach and detailing.
• Ensure the pharmacy is well-stocked and maintained.
• Follow all company policies, maintain respectful relationships, and complete assigned tasks.

Training & Personal Development

• Earn and maintain PTCB certification through our training program and/or state certification.
• Attend training sessions and acquire continuing education credits to stay current in healthcare and pharmacy developments.

External Basic Qualifications

• Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).
• Willing to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.

Preferred Qualifications

• Six months of retail experience preferred.
• Prior Walgreens experience preferred.
• Good math skills for accurate prescription filling.
• Proficient computer skills.
• Knowledge of store inventory control preferred.
• PTCB certification preferred.
