Minimum Responsibilities

1. Assist the pharmacist, under direct supervision, in the practice of pharmacy in accordance with state and federal regulations. Support other Pharmacy Department duties following company policies and procedures.
2. Use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions. If PTCB certified, assist and coach other pharmacy technicians in operating pharmacy systems and cashiers in managing pharmacy cash registers.
3. Model and deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience.

Customer Experience

1. Engage customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services. Resolve issues and answer questions to ensure a positive experience.
2. Share customer service best practices with team members to deliver a distinctive experience, including interpersonal habits and Walgreens service traits.
3. Develop strong relationships with valuable customers.

Operations

1. Assist in pharmacy practice under pharmacist supervision, ensuring compliance with policies and the Pharmacy Code of Conduct.
2. Perform duties such as entering patient and drug information, filling prescriptions, verifying medicines, and checking for interactions. Support workflow scheduling.
3. Report prescription errors immediately and adhere to policies concerning pharmacy errors and quality improvement.
4. Handle sales transactions, assist customers in locating products, and process third-party claims efficiently.
5. Support inventory management, including ordering, unpacking, and storing pharmaceuticals, and file claims for discrepancies.
6. Assist in clinical services, including sample collection and coordination with healthcare providers.
7. Develop relationships with the medical community through outreach and detailing.
8. Maintain the cleanliness and order of the pharmacy environment and stock supplies.
9. Follow all company policies and maintain respectful coworker relationships.
10. Complete assigned tasks and special projects as needed.

Training & Personal Development

1. Earn and maintain PTCB certification through our training program and/or state certification. Certification is a condition for promotion to senior technician.
2. Attend training sessions and acquire continuing education credits to stay current with healthcare and pharmacy developments.

Additional Requirements

• Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
