Responsibilities

1. Assist the pharmacist, under direct supervision, in the practice of pharmacy, in accordance with state and federal regulations, company policies, and procedures.
2. Use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions. If PTCB certified, assist and coach other pharmacy technicians in operating pharmacy systems and cashiers in operating the pharmacy cash registers.
3. Model and deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience.

Customer Experience

• Engage customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services. Resolve customer issues and answer questions to ensure a positive experience.
• Share customer service best practices with team members, including interpersonal habits and Walgreens service traits.
• Develop strong relationships with valuable customers.

Operations

• Assist in pharmacy practice under pharmacist supervision, ensuring compliance with all relevant policies and codes of conduct.
• Perform duties such as entering patient and drug information, filling prescriptions, verifying medicines, and assisting with workflow management.
• Report prescription errors immediately and adhere to policies regarding dispensing and quality improvement.
• Handle sales transactions, including cash handling and customer assistance in locating products.
• Process third-party claims and perform clerical duties as assigned.
• Support inventory management activities and maintain proper storage and handling of pharmaceuticals.
• Assist in clinical services, including sample collection and coordination with healthcare providers.
• Build and maintain relationships with the local medical community through outreach and detailing.
• Maintain a clean, stocked, and orderly pharmacy environment.
• Comply with all company policies and maintain respectful coworker relationships.
• Complete any additional tasks or special assignments as needed.

Training & Personal Development

• Earn and maintain PTCB certification through the designated training program and/or state certification requirements. Certification may be a condition for promotion.
• Attend training sessions and pursue continuing education to stay current with healthcare and pharmacy developments.

Additional requirements include fluency in English (except in Puerto Rico) and willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
