Responsibilities

1. Assist the pharmacist, under direct supervision, in the practice of pharmacy in accordance with state and federal regulations. Support other Pharmacy Department duties per Company policies and procedures.
2. Use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions. If PTCB certified, assist and coach other pharmacy technicians and cashiers in pharmacy system operation.
3. Deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience.

Customer Experience

• Greet customers and patients, offer assistance, resolve issues, and answer questions to ensure a positive experience.
• Share customer service best practices with team members, including interpersonal skills and Walgreens service traits.
• Develop strong relationships with valuable customers.

Operations

• Assist in pharmacy practice under supervision, ensuring compliance with policies and regulations.
• Perform duties such as entering patient and drug information, filling prescriptions, verifying correctness, and checking for interactions.
• Report prescription errors immediately and adhere to error and quality policies.
• Follow Good Faith Dispensing policies during prescription activities.
• Handle sales, including cash register operations and assisting customers in locating products.
• Manage telephone communications, process third-party claims, and support inventory activities.
• Support clinical services, including sample collection and coordination with healthcare providers.
• Build relationships with the medical community through outreach and detailing.
• Maintain the cleanliness and orderliness of the pharmacy environment.
• Follow all company policies and complete assigned tasks.

Training & Personal Development

• Earn and maintain PTCB certification through our training program and/or state requirements.
• Attend training sessions and acquire continuing education credits to stay updated on healthcare and pharmacy developments.

• Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).
• Willing to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
