Responsibilities

1. Assist the pharmacist, under direct supervision, in the practice of pharmacy in accordance with state and federal regulations, as well as company policies and procedures.
2. Use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information, process prescriptions, and, if PTCB certified, assist and coach other pharmacy technicians and cashiers in pharmacy system operations and cash register procedures.
3. Model and deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience.

Customer Experience

• Engage customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance, resolving issues, and answering questions to ensure a positive experience.
• Share customer service best practices with team members, including interpersonal habits and Walgreens service traits.
• Develop strong relationships with valuable customers.

Operations

• Assist in pharmacy practices under pharmacist supervision, including entering patient and drug information, filling prescriptions, verifying medicines, and checking for interactions.
• Report prescription errors immediately and adhere to policies regarding pharmacy errors and quality improvement.
• Handle sales transactions, assist customers in locating products, and process third-party claims efficiently.
• Support inventory management activities, including ordering, unpacking, and storing pharmaceuticals, and file claims for warehouse issues.
• Assist in administering clinical services, including sample collection and coordination with healthcare providers.
• Maintain good relationships with the local medical community and support pharmacy and healthcare clinic operations.
• Ensure the pharmacy environment is stocked, clean, and orderly.
• Comply with all policies, maintain respectful relationships, and complete assigned tasks.

Training & Personal Development

• Earn and maintain PTCB certification through the designated training program and/or state certification, with certification as a condition for promotion.
• Attend training sessions and acquire continuing education credits to stay updated on healthcare and pharmacy developments.

• Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).
• Willing to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
