Responsibilities

• Assist the pharmacist, under direct supervision, in the practice of pharmacy, in accordance with state and federal regulations. Assist in other Pharmacy Department duties per company policies.
• Use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions. If PTCB certified, assist and coach other pharmacy technicians and cashiers in pharmacy operations.
• Deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience.

Customer Experience

• Engage customers and patients, greet them, and offer assistance. Resolve issues and answer questions to ensure positive experiences.
• Share customer service best practices with team members, including interpersonal habits and Walgreens service traits.
• Develop strong relationships with valuable customers.

Operations

• Assist in pharmacy practice under supervision, ensuring compliance with policies and regulations.
• Perform duties such as entering patient and drug information, filling prescriptions, verifying medicines, and checking for interactions.
• Report prescription errors immediately and adhere to error and quality policies.
• Handle sales, including cash register operations, and assist customers in locating products.
• Process claims for third-party prescriptions and support inventory management activities.
• Support clinical services, including sample collection and coordination with healthcare providers.
• Maintain the pharmacy environment, ensuring it is stocked, clean, and orderly.
• Build and maintain relationships with the medical community and support growth opportunities.
• Assist with maintenance and special tasks as assigned.

Training & Personal Development

• Earn and maintain PTCB certification through training and/or state registration; certification may be required for promotion.
• Attend training sessions, acquire continuing education credits, and stay updated on healthcare developments.

• Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
