Job summary

The Pharmacy Technician at Lewis Drug Stores will act as a patient advocate by ensuring patients follow their drug therapy plans, assisting the Chief Pharmacist and Pharmacist in preparing and distributing prescriptions in line with Lewis Drug policy and state and national regulations.

You will provide prompt customer service, maintain HIPAA confidentiality, and handle prescriptions using multiple software systems. Drive-thru support and teamwork are part of the role.

Qualifications

• Must be registered with the state Board of Pharmacy prior to the first day worked.
• PTCB certification is recommended; nationwide certification within 1 year is encouraged.
• High school diploma or GED required; state-specific requirements apply.

Responsibilities

• Provide prompt, friendly customer service to patients and store customers.
• Prepare and distribute prescription medications per Lewis Drug policy.
• Answer patient questions and troubleshoot issues promptly.
• Process new and refill prescriptions within scope of practice.
• Maintain HIPAA confidentiality and handle patient information securely.
• Log into multiple software systems for daily technician tasks.
• Stock supplies and keep work areas clean and organized.
• Assist drive-thru patients and support pharmacy team as needed.
