Job summary

Lewis Drug is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to assist the Chief Pharmacist and Pharmacist in preparing and distributing prescription medications in compliance with state and national regulations.

This non-exempt role emphasizes patient advocacy, exceptional customer service, and accurate data entry across multiple software systems. Training for national certification is provided, with on-the-job support to meet state BOP requirements and Lewis policy standards.

Qualifications

• Must be registered with the state Board of Pharmacy (BOP)
• Must become nationally certified within 1 year of BOP registration (PTCB recommended)
• Must be 16+ in Iowa / 18+ in Minnesota / 16+ in South Dakota, with registration prior to first day
• On-going CE requirements and additional credentials encouraged but not required

Responsibilities

• Provide prompt, friendly customer service in the pharmacy and store
• Fill prescriptions accurately and efficiently
• Maintain HIPAA privacy and confidentiality
• Answer patient questions and resolve issues promptly
• Process new and refill prescriptions within scope of practice
• Log into multiple software systems for daily technician duties
• Stock, clean, and prep the pharmacy for the next day
