Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and completion of an accredited pharmacy technician-training program or acceptance into pharmacy school.
• High school diploma or equivalent and one year of pharmacy or health care related experience.
• Must be registered with the North Carolina Board of Pharmacy within the first 180 days.
• Pharmacy Technician certification is required from the PTCB or ExCPT.

Responsibilities

• Process prescriptions and prepare medications following workflow procedures.
• Restock dispensing cabinets and anesthesia workstations as needed.
• Answer and screen telephone calls and route to staff as required.
• Handle medications per regulatory and legal requirements.
• Collaborate with pharmacy team, insurers and customers to resolve issues.
• Support with clinical functions for medication safety and adherence initiatives.
• Train new employees and students on job-specific functions.
